What is a stronger memento mori than a human skull?

This makes them PERFECT for cursed and haunted objects!  The skull could be from a convicted murderer.  It could be the skull of an innocent child who simply got on someone's bad side during the Reign of Terror in France.

 Get close to that skull - can you hear a child weeping for its mother?

Any skull might be rigged to light the eyes, like at 0:21 in the video below, or to slowly turn to face a viewer like at 0:30:

Human skulls have been and continue to be collected as trophies in some parts of the world, and are bound/adorned in bizarre ways a dedicated haunter may find easy to draw inspiration from.

An internet search finds skulls bound in rope, string and chains and adorned with shells, pipes, thorns, and random bits of hardware.  It's easy to believe the victims and their families cursed those who took the heads.

Skulls made from foam, resin, plastic, and other materials could all be finished in ways that would make anyone visiting your museum wonder if they are truly cursed!
