 Maybe these kinds of things still happen, but I have not seen anything like them in YEARS.

Not talking about "parades" where Mrs. Nesbitt's 2nd grade class walks down the hall in costume.  Real, street-closed and people lined up parades showing off the fun and creativity of the holiday!
